Ramsey Hospice shop is to be found at 83 Parliament Street , on the right hand side on the way to the Town centre. Parliament Street is the second Hospice shop address, the first being in Bourne Concourse, opened in 1990. The move to Parliament Street came in 1998.
Ramsey is the Island 's most northerly town with a population of over 7,000 it is third in size, after Douglas and Onchan. In 1847 the citizens of the Town received a bit of a shock to discover Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were almost amongst their midst. The Royal visitors - suffering from seasickness - had taken shelter in Ramsey Bay .
Opening hours are - Monday to Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tel: 818001 There is always a demand for items of clothing, gifts, bric-a-brac. If you have anything to spare that you think the Hospice Shop could sell please take it along direct to the shop or ring the Douglas office 01624 61 50 55.
Elaine Sayer
Shop Manager
The Volunteer Shop Manager is Elaine Sayer who has been an enthusiastic manager for many years giving considerable time each week to the organization of the shop. Elaine also has a keen interest in items of an antique nature which is extremely helpful to the weekly takings at the shop.
Having commenced trading originally in Bourne Concourse and outgrown the space, the Directors took the opportunity to move to this large modern shop at 83 Parliament Street. The generosity of the Scholl Foundation in enabling Share the Care to purchase the premises was a wonderful bonus and truly appreciated by both Directors and Volunteers.
Once again this strategy has proved to be a considerable advantage with increased income for the Charity.
