A Special 20th Birthday Visit

Sir Paul and Lady Haddacks

On Tuesday 8th July our Onchan Shop welcomed two very special guests as we celebrated our 20th Birthday. Directors, Staff and Volunteers from our seven shops and showrooms met His Excellency Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks KCB, and Lady Haddacks on their visit to mark the anniversary.

Celebrations started in August when more than 120 Volunteers enjoyed afternoon tea in a marquee at the home of Terry Groves, chairman of Share the Care Ltd.

Welcoming His Excellency and Lady Haddacks, Terry Groves said the Shops' success would not be possible without the generosity of Island residents who donated items for resale or recycling. He went on to stress that the Shops could not operate without the Team of 200 Volunteers and we are all very grateful to them.

After Terry Groves welcomed our guests, Sir Paul and Lady Haddacks both responded. Sir Paul: "We thank Share the Care for their invitation and it’s a great pleasure to be with you all once again, celebrating your 20th Birthday." And Lady Haddacks; " Delightful shop, all down to the very hard unstinting work of the volunteers. You all do a fantastic job helping a much needed charity in Hospice itself."
