Sales of pre-owned furniture began in a garage in Richmond Grove, Douglas, leased for storage. The first Saturday sale was a resounding success and very quickly the word spread resulting in longer and longer queues. Success dictated that larger premises were required, also a furniture van and drivers. It was obvious the furniture sales had a great future.
The present Furniture Saleroom is to be found at 8-10 Allan Street, Douglas, which quickly became a popular venue and Saturday sales have been held there ever since.
The term miscellaneous sales would be appropriate with just about everything donated in saleable condition being on display. On the upper floor there are toys, clothes etc - certainly plenty of variety.
Sales are held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm each Saturday.
If you have an item of furniture you do not need any longer and would like to give it to us to sell, you can contact us via this website by clicking the Contact Us link in the navigation bar above, or direct from here. If we can re-sell at Hospice we happy to come and collect anywhere on the island. All proceeds from our shops and furniture salerooms go directly to help pay for patient care costs, in our new Hospice, and in the community.
