20th Birthday Garden Party - page two

Presentations

Terry Groves presents Julie Jones with a bouquet Julie Jones discovering she has a present!
Terry Groves, on behalf of everyone at STC and as a token of our appreciation, presented Julie Jones with a bouquet of flowers and a B&Q gift voucher for garden furniture. Julie stepped down as Manager in June after six years in which she had raised STC profits by 83 percent. Doesn't she look happy with her present - and a bit surprised as well by the look on her face. There is a full appreciation of Julie on a separate page.

Terry Grovs presenting a bouquet to Nadene Crowther Nadene Crowther
To mark Nadene Crowther's retirement from STC Board of Directors, there were some special words to be said and a presentation to be made. Lady Haddacks presented Nadene with a bouquet of flowers and from Terry Groves, on behalf of STC Directors, a Covent Garden Opera voucher.

Nadene was not expecting a presentation and had to borrow Terry Groves spectacles to read the voucher and cards. She was (almost) speechless but thrilled to bits and thanked all concerned and all in the Hospice Shops organisation for "their" twenty years. There is a tribute to Nadene on her retirement on another page.

A reluctant walk back to the cars and buses This mini bus brought some volunteers to the party
"What a great Party," guests could be heard saying on their way back to buses or cars. Guests had made their way mostly by car but some groups of Volunteers had hired buses, as with this mini-bus photo.

Postscript

Floral arrangement
On all the tables and around the marquee, there were the most beautiful flower arrangements, much admired and appreciated; all the work of Janet Groves and her friends.

There were innovative floral arrangement ideas which many of the guests will have carefully noted for use at home.
