Hospice Shops Manager

In August 2008 we had pleasure in welcoming Tina Lawton who joined Share the Care as Shops and Salerooms Manager, moving into the shoes vacated by Julie Jones who stepped down in June. Tina had been Hospice Care’s Fundraising and PR Manager, since October 2005.

Tina’s days in Fundraising at Hospice Care were very busy and very full, working in the office in Kelsor House, Douglas and latterly in the new Hospice adjacent to Noble's Hospital, planning events, being out and about giving Hospice presentations to a variety of groups and audiences. She played a large part in organising the open days last year when invited groups and the public visited the new Hospice before it received patients.

Tina was born and brought up in Wigan, Lancashire, where she also went to school. She later studied at Leigh College for her Diploma in Hotel Management, followed by worked throughout the UK in a variety of hotel and catering management roles; restaurant, conference and banqueting and front of house. Tina moved across to the Isle of Man in August 1997, where she was Front Office Manager at the Castletown Golf Links Hotel, followed by two years at the Bank of Scotland, followed by joining the Clerk of Tynwald’s Office, where she was privileged to help organise three Tynwald Day events, including a Royal Tynwald visit, as well as several Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conferences.

Tina is now well into to a busy and challenging role as Hospice Shops Manager. We all wish her well.
